Donations & Fundraising
Project Purr is a nonprofit charity, and there are several ways you can donate or help raise funds:

Direct Donation (back to top)
Project Purr is a nonprofit charity (tax ID # 31-1576984) , and we gladly accept donations of money (always in good taste!) and items suitable for our fundraising yard sales (See below. No large appliances or furniture, please). Our mailing address is:

Project Purr
P.O. Box 891
Santa Cruz, CA 95061.

Rummage Sales (back to top)
Our world famous rummage sales are held on Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend (sometimes held AFTER Labor Day, like this year, 2006, when we are holding it on Sept. 8th, 9th, and 10th), so if you want to donate, please contact us at 831.423.6369. Although we appreciate your generosity, Project Purr has enough blankets and towels. Please donate them to local veterinarians or Santa Cruz Animal Services in Scotts Valley, 454-7303.

Project purr asks that you do not donate these items, as they do not sell well for us:

Cyber Charities - Giving Feels Good! (back to top)
This site offers a different way to donate to Project Purr

  • Networkforgood.org — for direct, secure online donations. Unlike similar sites, no commission is taken — 100% goes to Project Purr.

Annual or Outright Gifts (back to top)
Your gift to Project Purr may be in the form of cash, appreciated securities, bonds, property or personal effects of value, such as jewelry or art, and qualifies for generous tax deductions. As a donor, you may designate your gift as unrestricted, for use by Project Purr where the need is greatest, or restricted to a specific program or purpose of your choosing.

Planned Gifts (back to top)
By making a contribution to Project Purr in your will or living trust, your estate will qualify for a tax benefit. This reduces the amount of estate taxes that might be due, affecting your loved ones. This type of gift allows you to support the future of Project Purr without any cost to you now.

Tributes (back to top)
A tribute gift to Project Purr makes a thoughtful gift in memory of a deceased companion animal, or animal-loving individual, or as a way to honor someone living who deserves special recognition.

Volunteering (back to top)
Volunteers are often needed and always welcomed at Project Purr. You may consider offering your time or your professional expertise. Volunteering does wonders for your spirit and helps make miracles happen!

Easy Gift Giving (back to top)
Consider donating to your favorite charities for birthdays, holidays and special events. Put favorite charities in a hat and draw! Don't forget employer gift-matching programs...they can double and even triple your gift!
